ZEKLOS, james tiberius radomir
Women || With such an esteemed title, James has learned that many seem to believe he is above the simplest of desires. Of course, that belief is based in a vat of nothingness the size of the galaxy. James is extremely interested in the opposite gender. Until recently, his reputation was a molotov cocktail of broken hearts, betrayal, and crushing depression. He has yet to mellow with age though he does attempt to save face before the public.
Laughter || Happiness is all well and good as much of the time as matters, but laughter is where true satisfaction can be found. There are plenty of urban myths about how laughter increases the life of the humored, but James simply thinks it sounds nice. It is pleasant. There has been so little pleasantness in the world as of late. He enjoys listening to such exclamation of joy.
Animals || James has a certain love for, as he calls them, the natural inhabitants of the world. By no means can he be considered an extremist. However, he is very rarely seen without some sort of critter at his heels or on his shoulder and he has certainly expressed his interest in animal rights by donating his personal funds for a higher cause.
Challenges || Twin to politics, James has a special appreciation for anything that exorcises his mental facilities. His capacity for academic stamina astounds even those who have known him since early childhood. Even physical tests thrill the king, causing him to regularly work out in an attempt to earn a more muscular stature. Even with his pure moroi blood, he has managed to make a difference.
Power || Frankly, if the man didn't receive some sort of satisfaction from his rank, there is little chance he would be king. While he wants to accomplish things for the betterment of moroi society, the bottom line is he simply enjoys being in control. It's just good to be king.
Music || True music has a tendency to speak straight to the soul. James has a deep appreciation for the art of pitch and rhythm, a trumpet player and pianist himself.
Progress || Progress should be a goal simply for the sake of progress. There is little chance of anyone who knows the king well possessing the ability to call to mind exactly how many times James has given that line. It is one of his favorites because it doesn't only apply to politics.[/ul]
dislikes||
Ignorance || While the word itself has a very negative connotation, it denotatively means that one does not know something. On the bright side, according to James, ignorance is curable.
Stupidity || There is very little chance of a person ever gaining redemption from being labeled stupid. James loathes outright stupidity. The lack of intelligence and forethought completely disgusts him.
Loneliness || As a monarch, the weight of the world quite literally falls on Jim's shoulders. When left to his own devices for extended periods of time, he is far more likely to give in to the depression that plagues those with nigh absolute power. However, he does not want to be surrounded at all times.
Boasting || No one particularly appreciates a braggart. James is no exception. He even finds simple things such as inadvertently flaunting money rather offensive.
Foolishness || There is a fine line between bravery and foolishness. Foolishness is very near unforgivable, as it generally results in death. James has plenty of respect for courage as long as it isn't blind.
Dishonesty || A very moral man, Jim disapproves of lying. Unfortunately, in his line of work, a few moments of dishonesty could save someone's life, so he isn't stupid about it. He simply takes no pleasure in not telling the truth.
Disobedience || The moroi king does not have absolute power. He is not a dictator. So it has been for as long as anyone can remember. However, the usually moderate James does have a significant temper when his direct orders are disobeyed. He is the king, even if it isn't a perfect title.[/ul]
weaknesses||
Women || Frankly, James has a past, and he has yet to be able to bury it. He is almost constantly tempted by the women in his life. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately depending on who is asked, having a new girl every week or so is socially unacceptable.
Temperance || Generally, having almost complete control over his own emotions, facial expressions and personality is a very good thing. Or at least, it is for someone in a position of authority. This kind of control causes making legitimate friends rather difficult.
Love || James will be the first to admit that he has never fallen in the kind of love that exists between life partners. In this, there is no question. If he ever does, she'll have to come second, and that idea causes guilt. He has locked the emotion away and allowed his first and only love to be his people.
Guilt || While the king has almost complete control over what emotions he shows the public, he has absolutely no handle on the guilt he feels every second of every day. Once upon a time, he thought that leaders who committed suicide or stepped down from their position early were weak. He still believes that, but at least he understands. At any given minute, people are probably dying. As king, it should be in his ability to stop that. He holds every moroi, dhampir, and human death by strigoi hands since his appointment as a personal failure. It weighs heavily on his conscience.[/ul]
strengths||
Politics || If anyone were born to be king, it was the eldest Zeklos. He thinks of everything. Every angle of every possibility. It's simply part of who he is, not only who he was raised to be.
Charm || Where natural charisma fails, charm succeeds. He can lay it on as thick as molasses while appearing entirely sincere.
Courage || Whatever James fears, he has the ability to overcome. It isn't required for him to ignore his fear and act brashly, either.
Independence || Most of the population seem to believe that the royalty are coddled to the point they cannot take care of themselves. By not depending on anyone for anything, James allows himself to understand his on faults, take blame for his own failures, and does not need the approval of another. He doesn't have to care about someone else's opinion of him allowing him to act as he sees fit at all times.[/ul]
fears||
Insanity || It is very difficult to be a good ruler without a great amount of rationality. Losing the ability to reason would effectively kill him.[/ul]
secrets||
Ambition || An extreme desire for power must be kept hidden from the masses. It would cause them to lose faith and become wary of the idea that James had their best interests in mind. No one knows how much he enjoys authority nor the kind of pleasure it is.[/ul]
dreams||
Peace || Absolute world peace is unobtainable. In fact, in theory it isn't even a good idea. People need something to rally for or against, and peace isn't an earth-shaker. However, James does want to end the strigoi threat, and that's about as close to peace as he's ever likely to get.[/ul]
key traits||
Leader || True leaders are born; they aren't made. Some argue that it is simply a part of their genetic code. James doesn't particularly care why he is what he is, but there's no question about his ability to rule. Between his natural charisma, impeccable fairness, authoritative aura, and general ability to read people, James is the perfect king.
Temperate || In any normal circumstance--even normal by today's standards--the king has a very moderate temper. He very rarely loses his temper or becomes particularly ecstatic. He is as stoic as a mountain, as easy-going as a river lazing through the plains.
Observant || James pays attention to every detail. He reads people. He understands. Many would say that he has the ability to read minds if they didn't know better. Vampires and ghosts exist. Mind readers don't. In his own words, the king can simply "put two and two together to get four nine times out of ten."
Rebellious || Even the greatest of leaders has the odd urge to simply get away. Jim regularly escapes his veritable regiment of guardians and attempts to fit in as a natural person elsewhere. Unfortunately, with the decline in moroi numbers, very few people fail to recognize the king. This causes no end of annoyance.[/ul]

|| Regardless of what can be, and generally is, said about the games royals are basically required to play, James rather enjoys them.
